Google Meet Unveils New Interface Featuring Emoji Reactions, On-The-Go Mode, and More

Google Meet New Emoji Feature

We’re still not over with the Google Pixel 9 Series launch & Google just dropped another big update related to its video calling service, i.e., “Google Meet”.

The search engine giant has rolled out some updates to improve the overall user experience.

Google made a statement that the update brings a new interface and features to make robust connections with colleagues and peers and facilitate seamless interaction.

Now, the question is- What the update is all about? What update does Google bring to its product, i.e., “Google Meet”?

Let’s dive in!

What are the Google’s Major Updates in Google Meet?

Update #1: Improved Access to Advanced Features

One of the major updates in Google Meet is that it comes with a refreshed appearance which makes it easy for users to manage video calls and schedule their meetings.

The interface is now uniform across all devices, which makes it easy for users familiar with the mobile version to adapt to the new layout. Furthermore, the update comes with “Live Captions” that support 70+ languages which may help users from different backgrounds. When there is smooth link sharing and seamless interaction, users will likely engage with the app.

Update #2: Better Self-Expression with Effects and Emojis

Google Meet now offers even more ways to personalize your video calls. You can stack effects like backgrounds, filters, and accessories to create a look that’s uniquely yours.

Furthermore, Google has also introduced new emoji features which enable you to express yourself in large groups without disrupting the conversation. Whether you want to give a thumbs up, clap, or share a laugh, these emojis could be an ideal choice. In addition, users can easily customize the skin tone of emojis that suit their personalities.

Update #3: Screen Sharing for Better Collaboration

Collaboration just got easier with Google Meet’s new screen-sharing feature, now available on both iOS and Android devices. You can share photos, videos, presentations, and more during your calls, which makes it ideal for teamwork, catching up with friends, or even providing remote tech support.

If you are seeking flexibility and convenience, simply update it to the latest version to enhance your video call experience.

Update #4: New “On-the-Go Mode” for Mobile Users

For those who are always on the move, Google Meet now includes an on-the-go mode for Android and iOS users. The update comes with a clear and concise audio experience with larger call control buttons, ideal for interaction via calls while driving, walking, running, or engaging in some other kinds of activities.

One of the major highlights of the update is that you can now transfer your video call between devices, like switching from your phone to your tablet, without any interruptions.

Update #5: Availability (When will it be available?)

Last but not least, Google will roll out the update in the next few months to enhance the experience of Google Meet users. To make sure you don’t miss out, keep your Meet app updated. If you’re on a call with someone using an older version of the app, the call will automatically switch to the older version for compatibility.

Though Google is consistently rolling out updates, it’s wise to keep an eye on them to stay ahead of the tech industry. On the other hand, if you have queries related to the Android or iOS mobile app development, call us at +44(744)026-1268 or mail us at hello@mobileappexperts.co.uk today.
